What’s Inside “Safe Schools”
In this week’s episode of “Church And State” I sat down with Wendy Francis of the Australian Christian Lobby and we discussed the clear and present danger to our children being funded by taxpayers and supported by politicians. Watch now or read on.
It is the government’s job to teach children in public schools numeracy and literacy. That’s it. There may be some bonus things, but the further educators wander from indisputable facts toward philosophy and morality, the closer the state comes to establishing a religion.
Let me put it another way. The government’s role is to train my children how to think, not tell them what to think.
It is exclusively the responsibility and privilege of parents to teach their children how to be good citizens. This must be the case, or else the citizens become servants of the government, instead of the government properly serving the people at the people’s pleasure.
Freedom of religion, freedom of speech, freedom of press and political activity are all basic protections of individualism versus collectivism. It’s the freedom to think and believe what we want, with or without the State’s permission or blessing.
Be very afraid of anyone suggesting the collective is more important than the individual. It is then that individuals, which we all are, will be trampled and our rights surrendered to “the greater good”, decided for us by others.
So when the State usurps God-given parental rights to teach children values and morality that starkly contradict the values our nation was founded upon and the fundamental beliefs of most Australians for most of our history, that State has committed treason against the people.
Such is “Safe” Schools.
It is abusive to teach young children to be sexually promiscuous. “Safe” Schools teaches that.
It is abusive to teach young children that being naturally friendly with one’s own gender may mean they’re homosexual. “Safe” Schools teaches that.
It is abusive to teach young children that only they can decide what gender they are. “Safe” Schools teaches that.
