Dave Pellowe is a Christian conservative writer, speaker and blogger on all things culture & politics. His articles have been published in The Spectator, Quadrant Online, Caldron Pool, Culture War Resources, Eternity News and The BFG in New Zealand. He’s also the founder of the annual Church And State Summit arming Christians to influence culture since 2018, and in 2020 is helping launch the Australian Sanctity of Life Sunday.
Dave’s blog & YouTube channel called “Pellowe Talk” features expert interviews and commentary about important public issues. He interviews thought leaders like politicians, lobbyists, ethicists, industry and church leaders, academics and media personalities – all with very diverse worldviews and opinions about the issues that affect and shape our society.
Dave’s first hand political experience includes being a successful election campaign director (winning a safe seat from Labor) and media consultant. Dave served the Family First Party for many elections on the Qld state executive until the party eventually merged with the Australian Conservatives. He is now independent of any political party.
Should the Church be apolitical?
Dave Pellowe teaches that if the Christians are to be salt & light and if the Church is to be a city set on a hill, our compassion & love for 25 million neighbours must overflow into informed, effective action – not prayer alone. God hates injustice, and so must His followers. Don’t worry, Dave does not call us to blindly follow any party or a politician. Christians follow Jesus, and in Him & His Word is where we find our unity. There should be no difference when it comes to raising our voices in the public square on essential issues.
“The Lord looked and was displeased to find there was no justice.
He was amazed to see that no one intervened to help the oppressed.“
– Isaiah 59:15b-16a
